If you are experiencing male hair loss, losing your mane doesn’t mean losing your looks. In fact, it can be quite the opposite. Many women feel men with male pattern baldness are extremely attractive. One male role model that springs to mind is Prince William who, although married, has an army of female fans.

However, if you feel that male pattern baldness has knocked your self esteem, this article puts the spotlight on chic ways to help boost your confidence this summer.

Wear Sunglasses – Sunglasses not only protect your eyes by filtering out harmful UV rays, they are extremely stylish too. Whether you want to go for low budget shades or designer sunglasses, eyewear can really enhance your look – and even make you appear exotic and mysterious! Just make sure that you choose the right sunglasses for your face shape – so they are not too small or swamp your face. For instance, if you have a square or angular face shape with a strong jaw line, choose round or oval shaped glasses. If you have an oval face, the greater the choice you have, although rectangular shaped sunglasses will make your face look wider. When you are out of the sun, just flip your sunnies up and wear them like a headband, which looks equally chic and stylish.

Classic Looks – Fashion is constantly changing and, if you want to get yourself bang on trend, take a look at the fashion wear for men this season and choose the ones that work best for you. It’s important to dress for your body shape so only choose a style (and colour) that works best for you. Classic looks are always a sure winner and are a good investment to make as timeless outfits last well beyond the summer season (so steer clear of those brightly patterned oversized Hawaiian shirts!). Opt for anything that is tailored, for example, tailored shorts and shirts will flatter your body shape. If you are rectangular shaped with hips and shoulders that are roughly the same size, layer your clothing and wear tailored jackets. If you have broad shoulders and a relatively narrow hips and waist, consider yourself lucky as most styles will suit your body shape! For those who are oval shaped, vertical stripes will make your body look longer.

Summer Makeovers – A trip to your local barber can give you a real boost. Whether you want a smooth shave or designer stubble, there are all sorts of options available to you. Draw some inspiration from some of the people in the public eye whom you admire. Brad Pitt and David Beckham are two public figures that spring to mind whose image has changed over the years. If you want to give yourself a further confidence lift, consider changing your hair style – you may want to gel it or even shave it off completely, whichever works best for you.

Look After Your Body – If you want to look good for the beach this summer, it is important to eat well by having a balanced diet. So ditch those pizzas, takeaways and microwave meals and opt for salads and low fat home cooked food instead. It is often advised to ‘eat the colour of the rainbow’ so choose raw food like avocado, peppers, lettuce and tomatoes. Try not to over-eat – the recommended calorie intake for men stands at 2500 (and yes, that means calories from alcohol too!) Combine your healthy diet with an exercise regime and aim for at least a 30 minute workout a day. Having a healthier lifestyle and keeping in shape knocks years off you – get ready for the compliments.
