Stylish Looks to Help Restore Your Confidence for a Big Occasion

Your hair is your crowning glory, so if you are experiencing female alopecia, or women’s hair loss, in London or anywhere else in the UK it is common to feel a loss of confidence, or in the worst case a reluctance to go out of the house - whether it is to see the new year in, or even to nip out to the shops.

However you feel about yourself inside, it is important to surround yourself with people who will lift your mood – and your friends will do just that. If you have female alopecia, the people who know you best will make you feel good, and an evening out is a good excuse to have a laugh, chat and reminisce. So, next time your friends ask you to join them for a special occasion, say yes, have fun and party into the small hours.

Whether you are getting ready for a girls night out or are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, there are several things you can do to help restore your self-esteem. You will be surprised how much a bit of pampering, such as a massage, a facial, or just a long scented soak in the bath can do to help give your confidence a boost. In addition, a dazzling outfit that suits your body shape, worn with right accessories and topped off with a beaming smile, will make you truly shine.

Meanwhile, whatever the season or the occasion, if you have female alopecia there are steps you can take. Meanwhile, if you are getting ready for a big occasion, here are some top ideas on party looks that are suitable for women with thinning hair.

Dazzling Hair Accessories

Whether you have short or long hair, there are all sorts of sparking hair accessories that will coordinate with any outfit and transform you into belle of the ball. Diamante slides or clips work well with short or long styles, and hair bands come in all sizes and styles from wide versions to decorative hair bands with bling. Another option is to use several thin hair bands, or even ribbons to create a modern, trendy look.

There’s also a variety of hair pieces, including clip in ponytails and hair extension that will make your tresses glow. If you are feeling very self conscious about your hair, jewellery or a scarf will take attention away from your locks – just make sure you opt for colours and patterns that will co-ordinate with your outfit.

Decorative Up Dos

There are all sorts of decorative but simple up dos for hair that is mid length to long – all of which are suitable for women with thinning hair. One of the easiest – which you can do at home – is to twist your hair into a French knot and complete the look with a large, decorative hair clip (see above). Adding tendrils at the front looks beautiful and stylish and can complete your party look.

If you want something more elaborate, book an appointment with your hairdresser who can curl your hair with straighteners or curling tongs and pin it into an up do. Adding a hair accessory such as a fascinator that matches your outfit will look simply stunning. They can even fix your style with diamante hair pins to add further interest. Don’t forget to finish off your look with some shine spray to truly stand out among the crowd.

Elegant and Natural

If you want don’t want to make too much fuss of your hair, try leaving it elegant and natural. Your hair stylist will recommend the best cut for your hair, whether you want to keep it long or short.

Short Hair - One of the best looks for thinning hair is a shaggy longer Pixie style which is bang on trend. It only requires minimal layering as this will help give the illusion that your hair is thicker than it really is.

Mid Length or Chin Level - If you have slightly longer hair, a blunt bob will give your hair volume. Limiting the layers to a few near the front will complete the look so it is stylish and modern.

Long Hair – Adding a few waves in your hair will make your locks look thicker and will add extra glamour. The right hair colour will also give you a lift - ask your stylist to advise you on what suits your skin tone.
