It’s important to choose whichever works best for you.

One of the hottest looks on the catwalk this season is the headscarf. The Sicilian twists were spotted at Dolce and Gabbana, evoking a glamorous, Mediterranean feel. "It's about the scarf," Guido said of the hair at Dolce & Gabbana, "like how a woman would just pin her hair up [and] put a scarf on…there's a little indication of the '60s. A little Riviera feeling,"

If you the idea of sporting the new spring fashion accessory, the headscarf,  there are various ways to wear it to help you regain your confidence and ensure you are bang on trend this season.

Ways to Wear the Headscarf This Season

Sicilian Twist

If you fancy Dolce and Gabbana’s Sicilian twist, start by applying mousse to your hair and blow-dry it straight back, without a parting.  Wrap the scarf around the head, about an inch from the hairline and tie it to one side at the back of the neck. Roll up the hair into a French twist, but instead of folding the ends in, fan out the hair on the top of the head.

Sporty Look

Another way to wear a scarf is to wear it wide around the head, a few inches above the eyes, for a very sporty look. This is ideal to wear with a casual outfit, such as a denim jacket or jeans and a t-shirt.

Bandana

The bandana look great with large frame, Jackie O type sunglasses. Start by folding the bandana diagonally and put the two corners together. The result should be a triangle, with one long edge on the diagonal. Place this edge on your hairline or close to the hairline. Tie the two corners together at the back or your neck, pulling any loose hair out of the way to avoid getting it caught in the knot. Adjust the bandana according to how you want it to look and where it feels comfortable.

Cheeky Headband

A scarf knotted slightly off-centre around the hair makes for a cheeky headband look, with out giving you a headache. This is a pretty, informal look.

Classic Ponytail

You could also tie a scarf around a ponytail and pin it in place, with the ends hanging loose. It’s best to keep the ponytail fairly loose and avoid tight ponytails, as wearing ponytails too tight can damage the hair.
